Her requests were heartfelt and playful—early spring blooms to hide Easter eggs, late-summer flowers for July and August enjoyment, a reimagined driveway bed with layered plant heights, a welcoming garden for visitors to the backyard, and a magical fairy corner where her children could play. She also loves strawberries and envisioned a space that combines edible plantings with sensory and seasonal delight.

Design & Planting Highlights

Children’s sensory garden & whimsical play spaces —In the backyard, we created a winding sensory garden filled with soft lamb’s ear, textural grasses, and fragrant foliage. Pops of daisies invite children to make daisy chains, while small corners of the garden feel like a miniature fairyland, sparking imagination and play. The planting layout encourages exploration, discovery, and safe, tactile interaction for little hands and feet.

Front-yard welcome & layered spring-to-fall color — In the front, we designed a welcoming floral palette of creams, lavenders, and soft apricot tones. Early-season bulbs—daffodils, tulips, and crocus—create bursts of joy in spring, while midsummer perennials and ornamental grasses maintain movement and interest throughout the season.

Mature textures & seasonal transitions — As the garden has matured, the ground-cover mosaics beneath the lilacs have become a stunning spring display, while Muhly grasses create a sweeping, ethereal effect in the fall. Pops of irises and ornamental alliums add sculptural interest, and pollinators—including bees and butterflies—thrive throughout the seasons.

Travel-inspired elegance & collaborative design — This garden is a true collaboration with the homeowner, blending design motifs from her travels and personal experiences with our vision for cohesion, flow, and high-end detail. Every plant, pathway, and floral feature was selected to create a living, dynamic garden that feels at once intimate, magical, and beautifully curated.
