In 2021, a family reached out to us to breathe life back into their backyard. What was once a dull synthetic‑turf lawn was cold, uninviting, and uninspiring. Their children needed a space to play, roam, and grow. . . a yard full of color, life, and possibility.
Our Approach / What We Did
Turf removal & soil rejuvenation — We removed the synthetic lawn, enriched the soil, and laid fresh sod. We believe a home’s outdoor space should be more than a green carpet — it should be a living, breathing backyard for memories, exploration, and growth.
Pollinator‑friendly garden palette — To attract birds, bees, and butterflies, we planted native and pollinator‑loved plants including Obedient Plant, Lamb’s Ear, Jupiter’s Beard, Dill, Chamomile, and cheerful Daisies (perfect for daisy‑chains!). We added personal touches by hand‑painting garden stones with ladybugs, bees, and mushrooms to create whimsy and charm.
Cut‑flower garden for fresh bouquets — Because our clients love fresh flowers, we included cutting‑flower varieties like Zinnias and fragrant Calamint, so they can harvest blooms right from their backyard.
Cozy fire‑pit and gathering area — We designed a warm, intimate fire‑pit space for family evenings together. Surrounding this area are pollinator‑friendly perennials and ornamental grasses (like Russian Sage, Scabiosa, Yarrow, and native grasses) that provide winter interest and seasonal beauty.
Flower‑lined path & shady walkways — A meandering, flower‑lined path leads through the garden, shaded by Plumbago, Hostas, Hydrangeas, and Jacob’s Ladder offering a serene, garden‑like journey.
Privacy trellis & climbing plants — For privacy and charm, we installed a custom wooden trellis, laden with Clematis and Honeysuckle, creating a living screen and adding softness to the space.
The backyard is transformed, an explosion of color and life, a haven for children, pollinators, birds, and a place for a family to gather, play, and make memories.
